Therapy for Anxiety Online in Florida, Virginia & Washington

Helping you achieve the change you seek.

Anxiety doesn’t have to control your life.  Change can start here.

Does this sound familiar?

You feel worried all the time, from the moment you wake up in the morning to when you log on for work…to that errand you have to run tonight or that event 3 months from now?  Your thoughts and feelings seem out of control and you can’t keep your mind from jumping to the worst case scenario.

During the day you feel more irritable than normal and most things seem to frustrate you-the long line to get your coffee, someone’s comment puts you on edge, questioning the conversation you just had. Your concentration and focus to finish that “simple” task or watch your favorite TV show feels not feasible.

You’re fatigued, but restless and trying to fall asleep at night and turning your mind off just isn’t happening right now.  You speak harshly to yourself and in a way that you would never imagine saying to someone that you care about.

Getting a good night’s sleep, interacting with others and completing your day-to-day tasks; when you have difficulty doing all of these things it’s no wonder that you feel overwhelmed and worried.

You start to think; Why can’t I just calm down? I’m worried that I’ll never stop worrying! Why can’t I stop thinking about this?   It can and does go on and on.

When your worry starts to impact the good stuff; completing a final work task or seeing someone you love, life becomes less enjoyable.  Relationships get more complicated as it feels like others just don’t understand, grades may drop, projects at work don’t get completed or if these things get done, you’re miserable and nervous while doing them.

People I work with often hear me say “mental health does not discriminate” and anxiety is no exception.

What would it feel like to be heard, understood and better yet validated?

As a result of therapy you can feel comfortable making decisions again.  Feel less worry and have more room for joy, calm and peace.  Day-to-day life can feel lighter than it has been in awhile.  You can get that restful night’s sleep and feel ready to face the day without fatigue and irritation.  When something unexpected comes up it won’t throw you into a panic as you’ll have the tools you need to handle it.  You’ll feel and think better about yourself, your confidence will improve, and you can experience genuine comfort in treating yourself with the kindness you deserve.

Therapy with me is…

  • A safe, supportive and solution focused space that means we’re going to set goals and work towards them together

  • Laughing, crying (yes that’s part of the process for some people and completely allowed), and learning to gain new perspectives throughout our work together

  • Learn about your feelings, thoughts and behaviors to help you start to see what is impacting your anxiety the most

  • Active problem solving and discussing coping tools to help you manage your day-to-day with more ease as soon as possible

  •  Identifying your strengths and what is currently working and then use them as building blocks towards change

  • Tracking your progress with goals that you set and checking in each time we meet to ensure you’re satisfied with the work that’s being done.

Change is hard and I am committed to working with you and helping you to achieve the goals you set, if not surpassing them!

Frequently asked questions about counseling for anxiety

  • I hear that you’ve been in therapy before, but you haven’t been in therapy for anxiety with me before. I place great value on providing a safe and supportive environment with everyone I work with to ensure that we can get to know one another. I prioritize your comfort to share and engage openly and honestly in our sessions and to confirm our fit. I specialize in and enjoy working with people who want to take control of their anxiety and feel better in their day-to-day lives. I hope that I can be the therapist for you, but if not, I am always happy to refer you to someone who can best meet your needs.

  • It is perfectly okay to not know your goals before we meet for our first session. As we address what is bringing you into counseling and get to know each other better, we will problem solve and build on your strengths together to identify your goals. It’s great if we identify them in our first session and sometimes it takes a couple and that’s okay, too.

  • I specialize in working with clients who experience anxiety and stress. During our first session together I will gather information about your history and primary concerns that bring you into counseling. Through our discussion and in subsequent sessions I will identify if anxiety, stress or both are primary concerns. I will always use evidence-based approaches in our work together, regardless if you’re experiencing anxiety or stress.
