CBT Counselor

Kacie Zediker, LMHC-QS, LPC, ATR

You’re in the right place for change.

I believe that we all have the capacity for learning, growth and change.

You’re tired of feeling easily overwhelmed, worried and stressed in your day-to-day life.

You may have a history of negative life experiences or trauma in your past that affects you today.

You want to feel better, take back control and enjoy life again.

MY APPROACH

Therapy with me is a safe and supportive environment to start your process for change.

I am here to learn about you and explore what brings you into counseling.  Our work together will start by identifying your goals for therapy.  We’ll set your top priorities to focus on and we’ll let this serve as a roadmap for our work together.

In our sessions we’ll cover whatever is on your mind.  Whether that’s a recent experience from last week, something that’s been bothering you or that you’ve been feeling for a long time or the argument that you had with your spouse last night.

Sessions are an opportunity for you to bring anything and everything into this space and work through it in your time.  Together we will identify problem solving solutions, learn coping tools and strategies to help you achieve the change that you’re seeking.

I work best with people who are ready to take action.  Therapy with me is an active process: we look for solutions, problem solve together and watch your life change for the better.  Therapy is hard work, but I’m here to support you every step of the way.

You’ve gone through Google, talked to friends or maybe you’ve even done this before, but it hasn’t been enough to change your life in the way that you want.

I have over 14 years of counseling experience helping clients to make positive life changes, but most importantly I am also a human being who experiences stress, worry and overwhelm.  I understand how troubleshooting on your own can become really frustrating, but having a safe space to talk and learn can do wonders for change.

Clients describe me as open, understanding, supportive and collaborative. I frequently hear that clients appreciate learning a new perspective during our work together.

I’ve been in your shoes, looking for a therapist and hoping to find the right fit.  You’re seeking change and you want someone you can feel comfortable with.  Reach out for a free consultation today to help you decide if I’m the right therapist for you.  I know first hand that change is possible and if we’re the right fit, I’m excited to help you get started.

Methods

Online Therapy

Therapy online, virtual counseling, Telehealth-if you’ve heard of these before they all mean the same thing-meeting with a therapist from your own device and the comfort of home (or whatever private space you feel most comfortable in right now).  Research tells us that virtual counseling is just as effective as in-person and let’s face it, can be a lot more convenient. Your time is valuable, with online counseling you can cross off spending time driving to and from appointments, sitting in a waiting room or  having to get out of your PJs.

Solution Focused

Solution-focused therapy is an evidence-based approach that focuses on desired outcomes.  This approach acknowledges your innate strengths, not just the things that are going wrong in life.  With this approach we accept change and growth as part of life and use those things to identify how life can start to look different.  By focusing on solutions we’ll identify strategic steps to help you obtain the change that you seek.  We’ll build on your strengths, identify how to do more of what is working and support your personal growth.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is an evidence based practice (it’s been proven by research to be effective) that focuses on understanding our feelings, thoughts and behaviors.  I use CBT to help you become more aware and understanding of these things.  It can be really difficult to prepare for and make changes in our lives when we’re not fully aware of what impacts us the most.  With CBT you can gain an understanding of this in order to learn specific coping strategies and tools that translate to day-to-day life.
